People often get a frozen turkey, then de-freeze it, roast and serve with sauces as they wish. Inside turkey can be also the stuffing, however stuffing can has different variants depending on regions. E.g., in North America known choice is chestnut stuffing – puree with chestnut mixed with onions, fat, breadcrumbs and herbage. People in Britain prefer stuffing with herbs, mainly with rosemary. Turkey well compose with roast potatoes. Unusual element of Christmas Eve supper is pigs in blankets – little sausages wrapped in bacon which usually surround the turkey. In case of vegetarians in home, an alternative for turkey can be a nut roast contained of roasted chestnuts, vegetables and mushrooms.
Dried fruit and brandy butter are form of Christmas dessert. Another proposition is mince pies – tiny pies filled sultanas, nuts spices and another elements. Baked and dusted with icing sugar they seem to be great with a cup of tea or a bit of alkohol for the end of Christmas dinner. Traditional cake on the table at Christmas is prepared long time before Christmas. It is composed of fruits and different nuts and every few days is „fed” with whisky. Before Christmas dinner it is douse in layer of white icing. With clared ribbon that cake looks amazing.
Important vegetable served on Christmas dinner is brussel sprouts, often with bacon. Even though many peaple do not like it, brussel sprouts very often can be found on the Christmas table. Another popular vegetable on Christmas dinner is boiled peas or red cabbage.
